Pre-Game 6 News And Notes

Let’s Go, Six-ty Sev-ens!

* From the Ottawa Sun Barre Campbell writes, Battochio blocks out Game 5. I had a feeling that Battochio would have to pull a ‘Brodeur’ at some point:

Just like after the fifth game against Barrie, Battochio appealed to his team to pick up its play in front of him after Friday's game in Sudbury.

"They were all over us," he said. "They were en route for another 60-shot game. We finally put our heads back on our bodies in the second and (Anthony) went in there and helped us out. We just can't do that."

Apparently this is exactly what Coach Foligno was hoping for:

Wolves coach Mike Foligno said his players got a confidence boost from scoring six times against Battochio, who had been virtually unbeatable in the first four games.

"The volume of shots we've been getting over the course of the series are starting to pay dividends for us."

* From the Sudbury Star Scott Mitchell writes, Wolves not done yet. A snippet:

Feeding off the energy from the home fans, mixed with a touch of desperation, the Sudbury Wolves came out flying in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal and didn’t stop until the scoreboard lit up a 6-2 win over the Ottawa 67’s.

* Pouliot. According to poster Sdyfan on the 67s’ BB, Pouliot will be back in the line up for this game:

Pouliot actually only played two more shifts and then left the game. He was in the crowd for most of the night wearing a suit. Following the game he went to the hospital for x-rays. As far as i know there is swelling but he will play tomorrow. Just thought i'd let you know incase the play by play guys from rogers didn't.[sic]

* More news, from the Ottawa Citizen, 67's hope to finish Wolves off in Game 6 [Sub req]. And one more art on the Mussleman incident. From the Ottawa Citizen, OHL mugging mirrors Bertuzzi hit [Sub req].

* Hopefully the Civic Centre will be packed and LOUD and we can give the team all the support they’ll need to finish the series today!

C’mon boys! You can do it!
